5th Round of the 2026 Brasileirão: Matches, Lineups and Where to Watch
After four rounds, the 2026 Brasileirão is back without having to split attention with the state championships. Check out everything about the 5th round.
The state championships are over and now it’s time to focus on the country’s main tournament. The 5th round of the 2026 Brasileirão will take place between March 10 and 12 and will be a full plate for football betting fans.
Only one match will not be played this week: the clash between Athletico-PR and Botafogo, postponed due to the Rio club’s participation in the Libertadores qualifiers — they will face Barcelona de Guayaquil this Tuesday after drawing 1–1 in Ecuador.
To help you plan which matches to watch and, of course, make well-informed predictions, we have prepared this complete guide with everything about each match. So keep reading and enjoy responsibly.
Mirassol vs Santos
Estádio José Maria de Campos Maia will host the only match on Tuesday: Mirassol and Santos will face each other at 21:30 on March 10 looking to respond to their fans after an inconsistent start to the season.
The best debutant in Brasileirão history last year, Leão started 2026 somewhat irregularly — having been eliminated from the Paulista Championship in the Group Stage and currently sitting 10th in the Brazilian Championship. Despite being winless in five matches, Rafael Guanaes’ team remains unbeaten in the competition, with one win and two draws.
Peixe strengthened their squad but began the year inconsistently as well: they were knocked out in the Quarterfinals of the Paulista Championship and secured their first Brasileirão victory only in the 4th round — when they defeated crisis-hit Vasco da Gama 2–1 in a great performance by Neymar.

Playing at home, Mirassol is the favorite to win with odds of 2.02. A draw is the second most likely outcome at 3.50 — slightly ahead of Santos’ win odds at 3.65.

Atlético-MG vs Internacional
Arena MRV will host a clash between two state runners-up this week. Atlético-MG and Internacional will face off at 19:00 this Wednesday aiming to shake off the crisis of a turbulent start to the year.
Counting on home advantage, Galo has yet to win in the Brasileirão. With only two points, the Minas Gerais side is the first team inside the relegation zone and is trying to recover under new head coach Eduardo Domínguez.
Colorado has the same number of points and is trying to avoid another relegation battle — one they escaped in epic fashion on the final matchday of 2025. Paulo Pezzolano is looking to turn around the poor start and move past the frustration of losing the Gaúcho title to their biggest rival.

Predictions
With the home advantage, Atlético-MG enters as the favorite: the win odds are 2.16. The odds of 3.35 apply to the other two possible outcomes: an Internacional win or a draw.

Bahia vs Vitória
Not a repeat! After deciding the Bahia State Championship last Saturday, Bahia and Vitória will face each other again at Arena Fonte Nova — this time in the Brasileirão. Kicking off at 20:00 on March 11, the clash will bring the level of rivalry we are used to seeing in the BaVi derby.
Champions over the weekend, Tricolor de Aço will take the field as one of the only five unbeaten teams in the tournament. Sitting in 4th place with a game in hand, Rogério Ceni’s side is trying to move past the Libertadores qualifying elimination — and the state title helps keep confidence high.
Runner-up in the Baianão, Leão also has a game in hand and currently sits in 15th place. They even defeated Mirassol in the opener, but lost the following two matches — against title contenders Palmeiras and Flamengo, it’s true, but the 5–1 thrashing increased the pressure. Because of that, Wednesday’s derby is crucial to ease tensions at Barradão.

Head-to-Head Record
The 155th BaVi in history still shows an advantage for Vitória in the derby: 57 wins, 49 draws and 48 defeats. Visiting their biggest rival, Leão has not won for six years, when they prevailed 2–0 in the 2020 Copa do Nordeste — in 86 matches as host, Bahia has 31 wins, 29 draws and 26 defeats.
Predictions
In better form, Bahia is favored to win its second BaVi of the week, with odds of 1.74. A draw is priced at 3.55, while a Vitória victory stands at 4.8, considered the least likely outcome.

Corinthians vs Coritiba
Neo Química Arena will host a clash between teams dealing with a busy medical department. Corinthians and Coritiba will face off at 12:30 on Wednesday aiming to overcome their injury issues.
After being eliminated in the Paulista Championship semifinal by Novorizontino, Timão had the week free to prepare for the match. Three points behind the leader, Dorival Junior’s team has been showing signs that it will not struggle in the Brasileirão as it often did in recent years.
Coxa, meanwhile, will enter the match in 12th place and needing points to avoid worrying about the lower part of the table. Fernando Seabra had time to prepare following the elimination in the Paranaense Championship semifinals and will need to deal with absences such as goalkeeper Pedro Morisco.

Head-to-Head Record
Corinthians holds the advantage in the matchup: in 51 matches, they have 27 wins, 11 draws and 13 losses. Visiting their opponent in São Paulo, Coritiba rarely performs well: just two wins, three draws and 17 defeats.
Predictions
In this match, the favoritism wears black and white: Corinthians has odds of 1.57 to win. A draw is the second most likely outcome at 3.85, while a Coritiba victory stands at 6.0.

Flamengo vs Cruzeiro
The champions of the Carioca and Mineiro championships face each other at the Maracanã at 19:30 in the only match featuring two state champions. Cruzeiro travels to face its former head coach Leonardo Jardim, who has just taken charge of Flamengo.
Rubro-Negro had an inconsistent start to the year and lost two titles, with results below what the fans had grown used to since Filipe Luís took over. As a result, the club legend was dismissed after the 8–0 victory over Madureira (a feat that could make it into the Guinness Book), and the Portuguese manager made his debut in style: winning the Carioca title on penalties.
Another standout team from 2025 that began the season inconsistently was Raposa. After Leonardo Jardim stepped down, Tite was chosen as his replacement and initially struggled to deliver good results. However, winning the Mineiro title after seven years boosted morale in the coach’s project, and he is now seeking his first victory in the Brasileirão.

Head-to-Head Record
Flamengo and Cruzeiro have faced each other 85 times and the record is balanced: 33 wins for the Rio side, 29 victories for the Minas Gerais club and 23 draws. Playing in Rio de Janeiro, Rubro-Negro holds the edge with 19 wins, 11 defeats and 12 draws.
Predictions
With the home advantage, Flamengo enters the match as the favorite: odds of 1.52 to claim all three points. A draw is priced at 4.0, while a Flamengo defeat stands at 6.4.

Remo vs Fluminense
Remo hosts Fluminense at Mangueirão in a clash between two state runners-up. The Pará-based Leão — recently promoted to Série A — is going through a rebuilding phase. Besides losing the state title to Paysandu, the club has just appointed head coach Léo Condé, who will make his debut in charge of the team in this match against Fluminense.
The main missions for the team and its new leader are clear: secure Remo’s first victory in the competition and climb toward the middle of the table, leaving the relegation zone behind to breathe more comfortably.
On the other side, Fluminense also finished as runners-up in the Carioca Championship against Flamengo, but — unlike their opponent — they have maintained solid performances so far in the Brasileirão.
Currently fifth in the standings, the Rio club has seven points and wants to move even closer to the top of the table, even while playing away from home.

Remo (4-2-1-3): Marcelo Rangel; João Lucas, Marllon, Kayky Almeida, Cufré; Leonel Picco, Patrick de Paula; Vitor Bueno; Yago Pikachu, Alef Manga, João Pedro.
Fluminense (4-2-3-1): Fábio; Samuel Xavier, Jemmes, Freytes, Renê; Martinelli, Hércules; Lucho Acosta, A. Canobbio, Kevin Serna; John Kennedy.
Head-to-Head Record
The history between the teams is short and balanced. Across all competitions, there have been only five matches, with one win for Fluminense, one for Remo and three draws. Playing in Belém, the record may favor the home side: of four matches at Mangueirão, three ended in draws and one in a Remo victory.
Predictions
Despite the home advantage and the balanced history at Mangueirão, the difference in campaigns and squad investment weighs on the odds. Fluminense — even away from home — enters as the favorite with odds of 2.04. However, the debut of head coach Léo Condé could act as a surprise factor for Remo. A Leão victory is priced at 3.45, while a draw comes close behind at 3.50.

Vasco vs Palmeiras
The clash at São Januário marks a meeting between two extremes of the table, as well as completely different moments for each side. Vasco currently sits at the bottom of the Brasileirão — with three defeats, one draw and no victories — and is trying to turn things around after the dismissal of Fernando Diniz at the end of February.
The team has been under new management for less than two weeks, establishing a contract with Renato Gaúcho until the end of 2026. The coach has also placed the Brazilian Championship as the top priority at the start of the season.
Meanwhile, Palmeiras is enjoying a golden moment — Porco is the current leader of the competition and has just secured its 27th Paulista title.
Coming off a 2025 season in which they finished as runners-up in both the Libertadores and the Brasileirão, Abel Ferreira’s team remains one of the main powers in Brazilian football and is looking for another victory to extend its points advantage.

Palmeiras (4-2-3-1): Carlos Miguel; Andreas, Vitor Roque, Jhon Arias, Khellven; Gustavo Gómez, Marlon Freitas; Mauricio, Piquerez, Murilo; Flaco López
Head-to-Head Record
The historical record between the two teams is heavily favorable to Palmeiras. In 107 matches played, there have been 55 victories for the Alviverde, compared to 22 for Vasco and 30 draws — meaning Cruzmaltino has more draws than wins in this matchup. Even playing at São Januário, the record remains positive for Palmeiras — in 49 matches, the São Paulo club has won 22 times, compared to 15 Vasco victories and 12 draws.
Predictions
The difference in standings, the head-to-head record and Palmeiras’ current form help explain the odds. In this matchup — even playing in Rio de Janeiro — the league leader enters as the favorite with odds of 2.24. However, Renato Gaúcho’s debut in charge of Vasco could add some unpredictability to the contest. A draw is priced at 3.35 and a Vasco victory at 3.10.

São Paulo vs Chapecoense
São Paulo hosts Chapecoense at Estádio do Canindé in a clash between teams in different moments, but with one common element — both sides remain unbeaten since the start of the Brasileirão.
Tricolor Paulista has been going through a transitional moment behind the scenes after the dismissal of Hernán Crespo due to internal disagreements. Roger Machado was chosen to take over the team and begins his work on Tuesday (March 10), making his debut against Chapecoense.
Verdão do Oeste, despite also arriving unbeaten, faces a slightly different reality — the club has just returned to Série A and finished as runners-up in the Santa Catarina Championship last weekend (March 8) after losing to Barra.
While São Paulo currently sits second in the table, Chapecoense follows behind in ninth place, looking to establish itself in the competition. However, the team shows some clear weaknesses — the attack, for example, is not as efficient as São Paulo’s, and the defensive resilience is also weaker, which could compromise their performance against the second-placed side in the league.

Chapecoense (4-3-1-2): Leo Vieira; Everton, Victor Caetano, Eduardo Doma, Walter Clar; Camilo, Higor Meritão, Rafael Carvalheira; Giovanni Augusto; Italo, Neto Pessoa
Head-to-Head Record
The two teams have a very balanced historical record, with a slight advantage for São Paulo. In 14 matches, there have been four wins for Tricolor Paulista, six draws and four victories for Chapecoense. When the match is played in São Paulo, the home side has the edge, but results remain very balanced: two wins for São Paulo, one for Chapecoense and four draws.
Predictions
Despite the balanced record, São Paulo’s current form is overwhelming. Even with Roger Machado making his debut as head coach, the team remains the favorite in this matchup — highlighting the technical gap between the squads with odds of 1.43 compared to Chapecoense’s 7.40, while a draw is priced at 4.40.

Grêmio vs Red Bull Bragantino
At Arena do Grêmio, a clash of opposing characteristics promises an interesting matchup. Grêmio — recently crowned champions of Rio Grande do Sul — is enjoying a moment of strong attacking power, boasting one of the sharpest offensive records in the competition, something clearly shown in the five goals scored against Botafogo.
The team’s problem lies on the other side of the pitch — the defense has looked vulnerable and prone to conceding goals with relative ease.
On the other side, Bragantino is experiencing the opposite scenario — Massa Bruta has built a solid campaign largely thanks to its defensive consistency, which currently stands as one of the best defenses in the league.
Braga’s Achilles’ heel, however, is the attack. This clash of styles could make the match one of the most unpredictable and interesting of the entire round.

Expected Lineups
Grêmio (4-2-3-1): Weverton; Pavon, Gustavo Martins, Viery, Marlon; Noriega, Arthur; Dodi, Enamorado, Amuzu; Carlos Vinícius
Red Bull Bragantino (4-4-2): Cleiton; Andrés Hurtado, Alix Vinícius, Pedro Henrique, J. Capixaba; Fabinho, Gustavo Neves, Sasha, Lucas Barbosa; Isidro Pitta, Henry Mosquera
Head-to-Head Record
The head-to-head record is a point of concern for Grêmio. In 20 meetings between the teams, Bragantino holds the advantage with eight wins, compared to four for Grêmio and eight draws. At Arena do Grêmio, the balance is greater than the advantage — in 10 matches there have been four wins for Grêmio, four draws and two victories for Braga.
Predictions
The clash of opposites leaves the match wide open. Grêmio has a powerful attack but a fragile defense and faces a Bragantino side built on defensive solidity but with difficulties scoring. Home advantage and attacking strength give Grêmio a slight edge in the odds, but Massa Bruta’s consistency could surprise. A Grêmio victory is priced at 2.06, while a draw stands at 3.45 and a Bragantino win at 3.50.
