PSG in the 2024/25 Champions League

Paris Saint-Germain qualified for this edition of the tournament by winning their 12th Ligue 1 title in the 2023/24 season. The French side struggled in the league phase, finishing just 15th with 13 points from four wins and a draw. They lost three matches.

That meant PSG had to go through the playoffs. There, they faced fellow French club Brest and dominated. Away from home, they won 3-0. Back at the Parc des Princes, they ran riot with a crushing 7-0 victory — securing a spot in the round of 16.

Once in the knockout stages, PSG had more challenges. They lost 1-0 at home to Liverpool, but returned the favor at Anfield and won the penalty shootout 4-1. In the quarter-finals, another English opponent: Aston Villa. PSG won 3-1 at home but nearly saw their lead slip away in the return leg.

They led 2-0 away but saw Villa turn the game around. Luckily, they advanced 5-4 on aggregate. In the semis, PSG faced yet another English club — Arsenal — and came out on top in both legs: 1-0 away and 2-1 at home.

After a resilient journey, PSG now heads into their second Champions League final. Their first appearance was in 2019/20, when they lost to Bayern Munich. This time, they aim to rewrite history and claim their first-ever Champions League title.

Internazionale in the 2024/25 Champions League

Just like their final opponent, Inter Milan qualified as champions of their domestic league. But unlike PSG, Inter had a smoother ride in the group stage, finishing 4th overall with 19 points from six wins and a draw, with only one loss.

Starting directly in the round of 16, Inter faced Dutch side Feyenoord and won both legs — 2-0 away and 2-1 at home at the Giuseppe Meazza. The quarter-finals brought a tougher challenge against Bayern Munich.

At the Allianz Arena — the very venue for the final — Inter secured a 2-1 win after opening the scoring, conceding an equalizer, and scoring the winner. At home, things got tense: Bayern scored first, Inter turned it around, but the Germans equalized late. Still, the previous win pushed Inter through.

Thirteen goals were scored across both semi-final legs between Inter and Barcelona. With Camp Nou under renovation, Barça hosted the first leg at Montjuïc Stadium — ending in a 3-3 thriller.

Back in Milan, the second leg saw multiple comebacks. Inter led 2-0, then conceded three goals — the last in the 87th minute. But in extra time, they bounced back and scored the winner in the 99th minute, sealing a 4-3 victory and booking their seventh Champions League final.

In their previous six finals, Inter Milan won three times — lifting the trophy in 1963/64, 1964/65, and 2009/10. They came up short in 1966/67, 1971/72, and most recently in 2022/23. Now, the Nerazzurri are chasing their fourth European crown.

Head-to-Head Record

Officially, this will be the first competitive meeting between PSG and Inter. The two sides have only met in preseason friendlies, with five matches played in the past decade. PSG won the first three, while Inter claimed victory in the most recent two.

Who Will Win the 2024/25 Champions League?

Despite their history in the competition, Inter Milan are not the clear favorites this time. In the 1x2 odds market, Inter are priced at 3.5 to win in regular time. PSG, after coming close in previous years, is better positioned with odds of 2.22.

A draw — always possible in a final — is listed at 3.4. When it comes to the "To Lift the Trophy" market, things are tighter: PSG are at 1.66, while Inter sit at 2.34.

Where to Watch

Brazilian fans have three options to watch this season’s Champions League final. On free-to-air TV, the match will be broadcast by SBT. On cable, tune in to TNT Sports. And for streaming, the game will be available on HBO Max.
