Formula 1 2025: Discover the São Paulo GP, the Drivers, and the Favorites on This Iconic Racing Circuit!
Formula 1 lands in Brazil with high speed and a fierce battle for the championship between three drivers!
The São Paulo Grand Prix, also known as the Interlagos Grand Prix — and formerly the Brazilian Grand Prix — is the 21st race of the 2025 Formula 1 season. The competition is heating up on the tracks. So, besides watching every maneuver from the drivers, racing fans can add even more excitement with sports betting.
On Friday, November 7, the free practice sessions take place. Then, on Saturday (8), it’s time for qualifying, followed by the main race on Sunday (9). Three drivers are still fighting for the season title: Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri from McLaren, and Max Verstappen from Red Bull Racing, who are very close in the standings.

What Is the São Paulo Grand Prix Like?
The José Carlos Pace Circuit, popularly known as Interlagos, is located in the city of São Paulo. It was inaugurated in 1940 and made its Formula 1 debut in 1973. Since then, 51 races have taken place there, with French driver Alain Prost holding the record with six wins at the Brazilian GP.
The Interlagos circuit is 4.309 kilometers long, featuring 15 turns and runs counterclockwise. This weekend’s event will also feature the sprint race. The winner of the sprint on Saturday earns eight points in the standings — which could make a big difference in such a tight title race.
Who’s Racing in the Interlagos GP?
All the 2025 Formula 1 drivers will compete in São Paulo. The highlights include McLaren’s Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri, as well as Max Verstappen from Red Bull Racing.
But there’s one particularly special name on the grid. After seven years without a Brazilian driver racing on home soil, young Gabriel Bortoleto brings the green-and-yellow flag back to the track. Before him, Felipe Massa was the last Brazilian to race the circuit, back in 2017.
How Is the 2025 Formula 1 Season Going?
The Constructors’ Championship is practically decided — McLaren has already secured it some time ago. Ferrari, Mercedes, and Red Bull Racing are battling for second place. McLaren leads with 713 points, followed by Ferrari (356), Mercedes (355), and Red Bull (346).
The real fight is in the Drivers’ Championship. Lando Norris leads by just one point, with 357. Right behind him is teammate Oscar Piastri with 356, while Verstappen trails with 321.
George Russell (Mercedes) and Charles Leclerc (Ferrari) have 258 and 210 points, respectively. Still in triple digits, British driver Lewis Hamilton (Ferrari) has 146.
At the bottom of the table, Argentine driver Franco Colapinto and Australian Jack Doohan — who have alternated at Alpine — are yet to score points. Bortoleto, racing for Sauber, has 19.
Which Grands Prix Have Already Taken Place?
The 20 Formula 1 races so far were held in Australia, China, Japan, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, twice in the United States, twice in Italy, Monaco, Spain, Canada, Austria, Great Britain, Belgium, Hungary, the Netherlands, Azerbaijan, Singapore, and Mexico.
Oscar Piastri has won seven races, followed by Lando Norris with six, and Max Verstappen with five. George Russell broke the dominance of the trio by winning two races.
After the São Paulo GP, only three rounds remain: in two weeks, the Las Vegas Grand Prix, followed by Qatar the next weekend. The season finale will take place at the Abu Dhabi GP on December 7.
Who Are the Favorites to Win the 2025 São Paulo Grand Prix?
Of the three title contenders, two are tied as favorites to win in Interlagos. Max Verstappen and Lando Norris both have odds of 2.5 to win the GP. Oscar Piastri trails slightly behind with 4.1.
Chasing from the outside, three strong Formula 1 names could also surprise in São Paulo. Charles Leclerc has odds of 13.0 to win, George Russell follows with 15.0, and Lewis Hamilton — a two-time winner at the track — has 23.0.
