In addition to celebrating the plays on the field, you can also add more fun by placing a bet on Sports Betting.

The 2025/26 NFL season kicks off on September 4, and Super Bowl LX is scheduled for February 8 at Levi’s Stadium, in Santa Clara, California. Before the ball goes up, check out the competition and team details in this special guide prepared by Blaze!

About the 2025/26 NFL

The 2025/26 NFL follows the traditional format of the world’s leading American football competition. The regular season has 18 weeks, with each team playing 17 games. Then come the playoffs, with knockout games leading up to the Super Bowl, the grand finale.

Traditionally, the opening game features the reigning champion. The 32 teams are split into two conferences, each with four divisions. The regular season ends the week after New Year’s, giving way to the elimination stage — lose and you’re out — until the final showdown.

American Football Conference (AFC): North Division

Baltimore Ravens

The Baltimore Ravens have everything they need to return to the trophy stage in the 2025 NFL season. With solid predictions and top-tier athletes, the team only needs to put into practice what’s already expected of them in theory.

Head Coach

John Harbaugh

Titles

Two (2001 and 2013 – Super Bowl)

Key Players

The Ravens’ main star is quarterback Lamar Jackson. At 28, he already holds two NFL MVP awards, from 2019 and 2023. This season, he’ll once again aim to stand out among his peers.

Expectations

The Ravens are entering the American football season seeking their third Super Bowl title. The franchise has 8.0 odds to take home the trophy, is the top favorite to win the AFC North, and will battle the Buffalo Bills for the AFC championship.

Cincinnati Bengals

The Cincinnati Bengals have come close three times but still don’t have a national title to their name. Another year brings another NFL season and another chance to finally celebrate that game-winning touchdown.

Head Coach

Zac Taylor

Best Finish

Runner-up (three times)

Key Players

Since 2020, quarterback Joe Burrow has been the player to watch. With him, the team made it back to a Super Bowl in 2021, after a 33-year absence from the final.

Expectations

Although not among the top favorites to win the conference, the Cincinnati Bengals will fight to reach the semifinals of this stage, with 10.0 odds of taking the AFC championship.

Cleveland Browns

It’s been 50 years without a trophy for the Cleveland Browns. The team has never won a Super Bowl, with its only titles coming back in the NFL Championship era. After so many decades, could this finally be their chance?

Head Coach

Kevin Stefanski

Titles

Four (1950, 1954, 1955, and 1964 – NFL Championship)

Key Players

Myles Garrett, a defensive end, stands out. Unlike most teams that rely on quarterbacks as stars, the Browns’ key player comes from defense. In 2023, he was named Defensive Player of the Year.

Expectations

The Browns are the ultimate underdogs in the AFC, with 101.0 odds of winning the conference. Even within their own division, the North, things look tough, with 29.0 odds of victory.

Pittsburgh Steelers

As AFC North runners-up, the Steelers made the playoffs last season but were quickly knocked out. This year, they’ll need to advance with more composure and aim for a smoother playoff run.

Head Coach

Mike Tomlin

Titles

Six (1975, 1976, 1979, 1980, 2006, and 2009 – Super Bowl)

Key Players

Trent Jordan Watt, better known as T.J. Watt, is a linebacker for the Steelers. At 30, he has spent eight years with the team, collecting numerous awards and standout moments.

Expectations

While not quite as far behind as the Cleveland Browns, the Steelers have 6.3 odds of winning the AFC North. For the conference overall, they stand at 21.0 odds, putting them mid-table in the race.

American Football Conference (AFC): South Division

Houston Texans

The Houston Texans were the only AFC South team to make the playoffs, reaching the conference semifinals before falling to the Chiefs, who went on to be Super Bowl runners-up. With just 26 years of history, the team is still chasing its first major title.

Head Coach

DeMeco Ryans

Best Finish

AFC Semifinal (2012)

Key Players

At only 23, quarterback C.J. Stroud enters his third season with the Texans. In 2023, his rookie year, he was named NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year.

Expectations

The South Division has a clear favorite: the Houston Texans, with 2.1 odds. In the conference, however, the challenge is tougher, with 11.0 odds of winning the title.

Indianapolis Colts

The Indianapolis Colts stumbled again last NFL season, continuing a disappointing trend since 2021. The outlook isn’t bright, and expectations remain low, keeping the team off the spotlight.

Head Coach

Shane Steichen

Titles

Five (1958, 1959, and 1968 – NFL Championship, and 1970 and 2006 – Super Bowl)

Key Players

Jonathan Taylor, a running back, debuted for the Colts at just 21 and has since become one of the franchise’s top names.

Expectations

The Colts are expected to remain as supporting players throughout the NFL season. They currently hold just 4.3 odds of winning the AFC South.

Jacksonville Jaguars

The Jacksonville Jaguars have now gone two years without making the playoffs. Founded 32 years ago, the Florida team has never reached a Super Bowl.

Head Coach

Doug Pederson

Best Finish

AFC Final (1996 and 2017)

Key Players

Quarterback Trevor Lawrence joined the Jaguars after excelling in both high school and college football. Last season fell short of his expectations, but hopes remain for improvement. The team also counts on defensive end Josh Hines-Allen, who has been selected twice to the Pro Bowl, including in 2019, his rookie year.

Expectations

While the Jaguars have decent chances of competing at the top of the South Division with 3.5 odds, they’re far from AFC finalists, with 31.0 odds of making it to the conference final.

Tennessee Titans

The Tennessee Titans struggled last season. They won only three out of 17 games, tied with the worst teams of the year, and allowed 460 points — more than any other NFL 2024 team. Will their streak of bad luck finally end?

Head Coach

Brian Callahan

Titles

Two (1960 and 1961 – AFL Championship)

Key Players

Cam Ward was recently drafted by the Titans and is the franchise’s big hope for the new season. The player, who could have been selected the previous year, decided to stay one more season in college football to improve his numbers.

Expectations

The Tennessee Titans are only ahead of the Cleveland Browns when it comes to chances of winning the AFC, with 81.0 odds. Life will be tough, with just 8.5 odds of leading the South Division.

American Football Conference (AFC): East Division

Buffalo Bills

The Bills had a regular season to be proud of in 2024. The team won 13 games and lost only four, was the second-highest scoring team with 525 points, but stumbled in the AFC final, falling to the Chiefs. Thus, another title slipped away, now 60 years since their last.

Head Coach

Sean McDermott

Titles

Two (1964 and 1965 – AFL Championship)

Key Players

NFL MVP in 2024, Josh Allen enters the new season looking to reclaim his spot. The quarterback renewed his contract with the franchise this year for another six years.

Expectations

The Buffalo Bills are tied with the Baltimore Ravens in two aspects: both in title chances, with 8.0 odds, sharing second place in the ranking, and as AFC champions, with 4.0 odds, leading. As for the East Division, they should advance without any problems, with 1.35 odds.

Miami Dolphins

The Miami Dolphins fell short and didn’t make the playoffs in 2024, unlike the wild card spot they secured the previous season. Their supporting role bothers the team, which hasn’t reached a Super Bowl since 1985.

Head Coach

Mike McDaniel

Titles

Two (1972 and 1973 – Super Bowl)

Key Players

Named Rookie of the Year in 2021 by the Pro Football Writers of America (PFWA), Jaylen Waddle is a wide receiver for the Dolphins. He is expected to share the spotlight with fellow wide receiver Tyreek Hill, who won Super Bowl LIV with the Chiefs.

Expectations

The East Division’s supporting role should belong to the Miami Dolphins, with 7.0 odds of leading the group and just 41.0 odds of winning the conference.

New England Patriots

The New England Patriots enjoyed a brilliant decade in the 2010s. But history belongs in a museum — it’s been three seasons without making the playoffs, not even as a wild card.

Head Coach

Jerod Mayo

Titles

Six (2001, 2003, 2004, 2014, 2016, and 2018 – Super Bowl)

Key Players

This will only be Christian Gonzalez’s third season as a professional with the Patriots. The cornerback, despite being just 23, is already one of the team’s key players. He suffered an injury during the preseason, but it shouldn’t keep him out of the NFL campaign.

Expectations

Once a multi-champion, the Patriots have been far from Super Bowl contention for a while. And the probability of that continuing is high. The team has 6.0 odds to win the East Division, but just 31.0 to take the conference.

New York Jets

The last time the New York Jets reached the NFL playoffs was in 2010. The team clinched the AFC’s last spot and made it to the conference final. Since then, results have been poor, including a disastrous 2020 season with only two wins.

Head Coach

Jeff Ulbrich

Titles

One (1968 – AFL and Super Bowl in the same year)

Key Players

Rookie of the Year in 2022 and a two-time Pro Bowler, Sauce Gardner is the Jets’ cornerback and currently considered the team’s brightest star.

Expectations

The Jets are one of the possible dark horses of the NFL 2025/26 season. The team has just 15.0 odds to win the division and 61.0 to claim the conference.

American Football Conference (AFC): West Division

Denver Broncos

In 2024, the Broncos returned to the NFL playoffs, something that hadn’t happened since 2015, the year of their most recent title. Back on the right path, the Colorado team can dream again of another Super Bowl trophy.

Head Coach

Sean Payton

Titles

Three (1997, 1998, and 2015 – Super Bowl)

Key Players

Wide receiver Courtland Sutton enters his eighth season with the Denver Broncos and deserves fans’ attention. Another standout with less experience is Patrick Surtain II, the team’s cornerback and 2024 Defensive Player of the Year.

Expectations

The Broncos will fight for the AFC West Division title, with 3.7 odds. The team also has 11.0 odds to win the conference, the fourth-highest, tied with the Texans.

Kansas City Chiefs

One of the NFL’s hottest teams right now, the Kansas City Chiefs are the sensation of the year, even after finishing runners-up last season. They’ve now reached three straight Super Bowls, not to mention nearly getting there in earlier years.

Head Coach

Andy Reid

Titles

Seven (1962, 1966, and 1969 – AFL Championship, 1969, 2019, 2022, and 2023 – Super Bowl)

Key Players

It’s impossible to mention the Chiefs today without highlighting quarterback Patrick Mahomes. About to turn 30, he already has three Super Bowls to his name and was MVP in all three.

Expectations

Reaching the 2025 final bodes well for the Chiefs. The team has 8.5 odds to win Super Bowl LX and is strongly favored to win both the West Division, with 1.9 odds, and the conference, with 5.0 odds.

Las Vegas Raiders

The last time the Las Vegas Raiders made the playoffs was in 2021. Last season, they won only four games and suffered 13 losses, frustrating their fan base.

Head Coach

Antonio Pierce

Titles

Four (1967 – AFL Championship, 1976, 1980, and 1983 – Super Bowl)

Key Players

With the Raiders since their Oakland days, defensive end Maxx Crosby has been considered one of the NFL’s stars for four straight years. Could a fifth Pro Bowl be on the way?

Expectations

The Raiders will likely play a minor role this season. They have only 46.0 odds of winning the conference and 13.0 — the lowest — for the division.

Los Angeles Chargers

The Chargers have reached the Super Bowl only once in 66 years, back when they were the San Diego Chargers. The franchise’s inconsistency has long hindered better results.

Head Coach

Jim Harbaugh

Titles

One (1963 – AFL Championship)

Key Players

Named Offensive Rookie of the Year in 2020, quarterback Justin Herbert is no longer new to the NFL stage. He delivered an efficient 2024 regular season, but the playoffs were a disaster, with the team exiting early in the wild card round during a poor run for the player.

Expectations

The Chargers will have to battle the Broncos to shine in the West Division, with 4.1 odds. Overall, though, their chances of taking the AFC are just 13.0.

National Football Conference (NFC): North Division

Chicago Bears

It’s been nearly 20 years since the Chicago Bears last reached a Super Bowl, and 40 years since they won one. The team continues without much shine, living the role of an NFL supporting cast.

Head Coach

Matt Eberflus

Titles

Nine (1921, 1932, 1933, 1940, 1941, 1943, 1946, and 1963 – NFL Championship, and 1985 – Super Bowl)

Key Players

One of the few foreign standouts in the NFL is Brazilian kicker Cairo Santos. At 33, he has played for several teams before settling with the Bears in 2020.

Expectations

The North Division should be tight. The Chicago Bears have the lowest odds of winning the group, at 6.0. For the NFC title, their chances drop further, to just 18.0.

Detroit Lions

The Detroit Lions had an outstanding 2024 season. Unfortunately, it didn’t end with a title. Alongside the Chiefs, they were the winningest team in the regular season, with 15 victories and only two losses, led the league in scoring with 564 points, and won the NFC North, but fell to the Commanders in the NFC semifinals.

Head Coach

Dan Campbell

Titles

Four (1935, 1952, 1953, and 1957 – NFL Championship)

Key Players

The Lions can’t be summed up by just one or two players; the team thrives as a collective unit. That said, some names stand out, including wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown, quarterback Jared Goff, and defensive end Aidan Hutchinson.

Expectations

The Detroit Lions are among the top contenders to win the NFC, with 6.5 odds, behind only the Philadelphia Eagles. They also have strong chances of taking the North Division, with 2.8 odds. Beyond that, they’re one of the favorites to contend for Super Bowl LX, with 10.0 odds.

Green Bay Packers

From the U.S. state of Wisconsin, the Green Bay Packers are one of the most successful teams in NFL history, across all eras of American football. With the oldest name still in use in the league, tradition is the team’s main ingredient.

Head Coach

Matt LaFleur

Titles

Thirteen (1929, 1930, 1931, 1936, 1939, 1944, 1961, 1962, 1965, 1966, and 1967 – NFL Championship; 1966, 1967, 1996, and 2010 – Super Bowl)

Key Players

After four years with the Dallas Cowboys, Micah Parsons changes uniforms and joins the Green Bay Packers, promising a strong season as a linebacker. The franchise also counts quarterback Jordan Love among its top names.

Expectations

Although they are the favorites in the division with 2.65 odds, the Green Bay Packers trail the Lions when it comes to NFC performance, with 7.0 odds.

Minnesota Vikings

The Vikings made the playoffs last season, after missing out the year before, but fell in the very first game. After decades without a title, the team remains one of those without a Super Bowl to its name.

Head Coach

Kevin O'Connell

Titles

One (1969 – NFL Championship)

Key Players

Wide receiver Justin Jefferson has been with the Minnesota Vikings since 2020 and is under contract with the franchise through 2028. He finished the 2024 season with 103 receptions for 1,533 yards and 10 touchdowns.

Expectations

With the division extremely competitive, the Vikings hold 4.5 odds to win the NFC North. However, their odds of taking the conference title are only 13.0.

National Football Conference (NFC): South Division

Atlanta Falcons

That was the last year the Atlanta Falcons managed to get past the NFL regular season. The year before, they were Super Bowl runners-up. But the last few years have been tough, and a turnaround is needed.

Head Coach

Raheem Morris

Best Finish

Runners-up (1999 and 2017)

Key Players

Another young NFL talent, though already with some experience, is running back Bijan Robinson. The 2025 season marks his third with the Falcons.

Expectations

The Atlanta Falcons have a clear rival in the South Division: the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Georgia team has 3.5 odds of winning the division, but a distant 31.0 odds of taking the NFC title.

Carolina Panthers

Another team that hasn’t seen the playoffs since 2017 is the Carolina Panthers. Performances have fallen short, with their last strong season coming in 2016, when they reached the Super Bowl but lost to the Patriots.

Head Coach

Dave Canales

Best Finish

Runners-up (2004 and 2016)

Key Players

Defensive end Derrick Brown is a key piece of the Panthers’ defense. Present in 16 of the team’s 17 regular season games last year, his absence led to the franchise allowing the most yards per game and most points in league history.

Expectations

In the tight South Division race, the Carolina Panthers have 5.0 odds to win. However, the franchise faces an uphill battle overall, with 51.0 odds of winning the NFC as a whole.

New Orleans Saints

The New Orleans Saints were a fixture among the NFL’s top teams from 2017 to 2020. Five years pass quickly, and now the team must reinvent itself to do something special. Unfortunately, the odds are not in their favor.

Head Coach

Dennis Allen

Titles

One (2009 – Super Bowl)

Key Players

Alvin Kamara is entering his ninth season with the New Orleans Saints. The running back has already been selected to the Pro Bowl five times, proving he has no shortage of talent.

Expectations

The Saints are the biggest underdogs in the NFC, with 111.0 odds of winning the conference. Not only that, but they have just 15.0 odds of winning the division, far behind their three rivals.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Two Super Bowls, two titles. That’s all the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have needed to secure their trophies. In fact, it’s fair to say the franchise doesn’t waste opportunities when it reaches the final.

Head Coach

Todd Bowles

Titles

Two (2002 and 2020 – Super Bowl)

Key Players

Among so many players in their 20s, Mike Evans is an exception, being in his early 30s. The wide receiver has been with the Buccaneers for over a decade, won a Super Bowl with the franchise, and is regularly named to the Pro Bowl. With his contract renewed, he’ll continue showcasing his skills with the team until at least 2026.

Expectations

The top favorite in the NFC South Division, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have 1.75 odds of winning the group. The problem lies in the conference, where they have just 13.0 odds of taking the title.

National Football Conference (NFC): East Division

Dallas Cowboys

The Dallas Cowboys may be “America’s Team,” but lately they’ve struggled to live up to their star logo. Sure, they have eight Super Bowl appearances. The issue is that the last one was in 1996, the year of their most recent title.

Head Coach

Brian Schottenheimer

Titles

Five (1972, 1978, 1993, 1994, and 1996 – Super Bowl)

Key Players

Another 30-something NFL standout is 32-year-old quarterback Dak Prescott. After nine years with the Cowboys, he missed much of last season due to injury. Now he returns for another year. A bit younger, at 26, wide receiver CeeDee Lamb is considered fast and versatile.

Expectations

The supporting role in the NFC East should fall to the Dallas Cowboys, with 8.0 odds of winning the division.

New York Giants

Approaching 100 years of history, the New York Giants don’t have much to celebrate. With only two playoff appearances in the last decade, the team has underwhelmed in the NFL.

Head Coach

Brian Daboll

Titles

Eight (1927, 1934, 1938, and 1956 – NFL Championship; 1986, 1990, 2007, and 2011 – Super Bowl)

Key Players

With nine sacks in just 12 games in the 2024 season, Dexter Lawrence is the Giants’ top nose tackle (or defensive tackle). His numbers last year earned him another Pro Bowl selection.

Expectations

The Giants are no longer the powerhouse they once were, and they’re the underdogs in the group, with 17.0 odds of winning the NFC East and just 61.0 of taking the conference.

Philadelphia Eagles

Defending the title they won just months ago, the Philadelphia Eagles are hungry for more, aiming to repeat the feat of back-to-back trophies, just like in the 1940s.

Head Coach

Nick Sirianni

Titles

Five (1948, 1949, and 1960 – NFL Championship; 2017 and 2024 – Super Bowl)

Key Players

Saquon Barkley enters his second season as the Eagles’ running back, after leaving the New York Giants. The team also has quarterback Jalen Hurts, MVP of the last Super Bowl.

Expectations

The Eagles are going all out this season to chase another Super Bowl, and the odds are in their favor. They have 1.65 odds of winning the East Division, 4.3 of taking the NFC, and the best numbers to win the final, with 7.5 odds.

Washington Commanders

Runners-up to the Eagles in last year’s NFC, the Washington Commanders came very close to the Super Bowl after three years without even making the playoffs. In 2025, it’s time for revenge.

Head Coach

Dan Quinn

Titles

Five (1937 and 1942 – NFL Championship; 1982, 1987, and 1991 – Super Bowl)

Key Players

Jayden Daniels debuted as a professional quarterback last year with the Washington Commanders. His rookie season brought him nominations for Rookie of the Year and even MVP. With more experience, he is expected to have an even better season.

Expectations

The Commanders will try to steal the glory from the Eagles in the division, with 3.0 odds of winning. However, when it comes to the NFC overall, the odds shift to 10.0, making the goal more difficult.

National Football Conference (NFC): West Division

Arizona Cardinals

Another team that’s had a rough decade is the Arizona Cardinals. Only in 2021, in the past ten years, did the team advance to the playoffs. Life in the desert has been tough.

Head Coach

Jonathan Gannon

Titles

Two (1925 and 1947 – NFL Championship)

Key Players

Quarterback Kyler Murray is without a doubt one of the Cardinals’ biggest stars. At 28, he was Rookie of the Year in 2019 and is a two-time Pro Bowler.

Expectations

In another division expected to be very tight, the Arizona Cardinals sit third in the odds, with 4.7, very close to their rivals. But the NFC is tougher, and they have just 21.0 odds of winning the conference title.

Los Angeles Rams

Champions just four years ago, the Los Angeles Rams were the only NFC West team to reach the playoffs last season. Their divisional playoff loss to the Eagles was painful and cut their run short.

Head Coach

Sean McVay

Titles

Four (1945 and 1951 – NFL Championship; 1999 and 2021 – Super Bowl)

Key Players

At 37, Matthew Stafford is one of the NFL’s veteran quarterbacks. He began with the Detroit Lions, where he played for 11 years, but it was with the Los Angeles Rams that he led the team to the 2021 Super Bowl title.

Expectations

The Rams will battle the San Francisco 49ers for the top spot in the NFC West, with 2.9 odds. The team also faces 13.0 odds of winning the conference.

San Francisco 49ers

Runners-up in the 2023/24 season, the San Francisco 49ers saw a steep drop in performance. With six wins and 11 losses last year, their early exit was no surprise.

Head Coach

Kyle Shanahan

Titles

Five (1982, 1985, 1989, 1990, and 1995 – Super Bowl)

Key Players

Christian McCaffrey has been the 49ers’ running back since 2022, after leaving the Panthers. Named Offensive Player of the Year in 2023, he has proven to be a consistent performer for San Francisco.

Expectations

It’s been 30 years since the 49ers’ last title, and the drought looks set to continue. The franchise has solid chances of being the best in the West Division, with 2.45 odds, but only 9.0 odds of winning the NFC.

Seattle Seahawks

The Seattle Seahawks reached two consecutive finals in 2014 and 2015. One victory and one defeat marked those years. The team also made it to the Super Bowl in 2006 but finished as runners-up.

Head Coach

Mike Macdonald

Titles

One (2013 – Super Bowl)

Key Players

Cornerback Devon Witherspoon will be entering only his third season in professional football. In his first two, he was selected among the Pro Bowl stars and is close to achieving a third straight year.

Expectations

The Seattle Seahawks appear last in the NFC West odds with 6.3, but the number is very close to their rivals, which keeps them from being relegated to a simple supporting role.
