After an intense week of group-stage action, South America’s biggest women’s football tournament moves into the knockout rounds. This weekend, the 2025 Women’s Copa Libertadores quarterfinals will determine the four teams that continue their chase for the title — and of course, you can place your Sports Bets responsibly!

Brazil still has three representatives and seeks to maintain its dominance in a tournament it has only lost three times. Teams like the strong Colo-Colo and the hosts Boca Juniors are determined to end the six-year streak of Brazilian champions. Want to know everything about each match and how to follow them? Keep reading!

Corinthians vs Boca Juniors

Winners of the last two editions and the all-time leaders in Women’s Copa Libertadores titles, Corinthians entered the current campaign with high expectations. While their performance hasn’t yet completely impressed a demanding fanbase that embraces women’s football, results like the 11–0 thrashing of Always Ready showed why the Brabas remain feared.

Their opponent, Boca Juniors, hasn’t displayed the same attacking power so far. Relying on home advantage and an impenetrable defense up to this point, the Xeneizes are chasing Argentina’s first continental women’s football title — and could surprise the Brazilians.

This will be the first match of the Women’s Copa Libertadores quarterfinals, kicking off at 4 p.m. on October 11 at the Nuevo Francisco Urbano Stadium in Buenos Aires, which holds 32,000 spectators.

Corinthians’ Form

The defending champions and Group A leaders have the best attack in the tournament, scoring 13 goals in three games. Forward Gabi Zanotti is the second-leading scorer with three goals, while midfielder Andressa Alves leads the assist chart with three.

There are no confirmed absences for Corinthians, but head coach Lucas Piccinato has two key doubts. Midfielder Vic Albuquerque twisted her knee against Santa Fé and could miss the game, while forward Jaqueline is a doubt due to a foot injury.

Boca Juniors’ Form

Also unbeaten, the hosts finished second in Group B. Despite scoring only in their 2–0 win over ADIFFEM, the Xeneizes boast the best defense in the competition, having yet to concede a goal.

Head coach Florencia Quiñones has no absences, so the expected lineup should feature familiar names like midfielder Lola Ruffini, defender Julieta Cruz, and forward Yuria Sasaki.

Head-to-Head Record

The history between Corinthians and Boca Juniors in women’s football can be summed up in one word: balance. In three meetings, each team has won once and drawn once. Although Corinthians won 1–0 in the 2015 Libertadores, Boca triumphed 2–1 in 2022, and the teams drew 0–0 last season.

Predictions

As a powerhouse in women’s football, Corinthians enter as favorites with odds of 1.44 to win. Boca Juniors, on the other hand, are listed at 7.2, making them underdogs despite home advantage.

Ferroviária vs Independiente Del Valle

Five years after their last Copa Libertadores title, two-time champions Ferroviária are looking to become the tournament’s second-most successful club. Unbeaten and already qualified before the final group match, the team from Araraquara rotated their squad to arrive well-rested for the quarterfinals.

Independiente Del Valle, however, had to fight until the end for their place, as qualification didn’t depend solely on their own results. With a solid squad that troubled Corinthians in their opening match, the Dragonas showed quality and potential to challenge any rival.

This clash will also be played at Nuevo Francisco Urbano Stadium, at 8 p.m. on October 11. Both teams will take the field already knowing their potential semifinal opponents.

Ferroviária’s Form

Having secured qualification early, the Guerreiras Grenás rotated heavily in their 0–0 draw against Boca Juniors — only goalkeeper Luciana, defender Andressa Pereira, midfielder Nicoly, and playmaker Micaelly started.

Coach Leonardo Mendes has a fully fit squad, meaning Ferroviária will be at full strength in their pursuit of a semifinal spot. Star striker Natalia Vendito leads the team with nine goals this season.

Independiente Del Valle’s Form

After thrashing Always Ready 5–0 to secure their qualification, the Dragonas are ready to fly higher. Led by experienced midfielder Ámbar Torres — the tournament’s second-top scorer with three goals — the Ecuadorians remain unbeaten, with one draw (against Corinthians) and two wins.

Head coach Gustavo Pineda also has a full squad available, including defender Fiorella Pico, versatile midfielder Nicole Charcopa, and young forward Evelyn Burgos.

Head-to-Head Record

This will be only the second meeting between these teams, following their 1–1 draw in the 2024 edition — meaning neither side has ever beaten the other.

Predictions

Markets have not yet opened, but the match is expected to be very close. Both teams have conceded just once in the tournament, and the Dragonas boast a better attack, scoring seven goals to Ferroviária’s three. The game will likely be decided by fine margins.

Colo-Colo vs Libertad

The only quarterfinal match without a Brazilian club is also the one with the greatest technical disparity. With the best campaign in the Libertadores, an impenetrable defense, and the tournament’s top scorer, Colo-Colo is chasing its second title after 13 years.

Meanwhile, Libertad is still searching for its first win, having drawn all three of its matches so far and scoring only once. In a balanced group, the Paraguayan side advanced thanks to tiebreaker criteria and will enter the pitch as the clear underdogs.

Favoritism aside, the match will take place at 4 p.m. on October 12. Played at Estadio Florencio Sola in Buenos Aires, the Sunday clash will decide a spot among the continent’s top four, with up to 34,900 fans expected.

Colo-Colo’s Form

The only team with a perfect record, Las Albas are led by striker Mary Valencia — the tournament’s top scorer with four goals and the standout name so far. In addition, forward Yenny Acuña and winger Yanara Aedo bring valuable experience to a squad capable of going far.

Despite qualifying early, the group lead wasn’t guaranteed, so coach Tatiele Silveira made a few key changes in the narrow win over San Lorenzo — just four rotations. With no significant absences, the Brazilian manager should field her strongest lineup.

Libertad’s Form

Libertad comes into this decisive match unbeaten — both a blessing and a curse, as the Paraguayans have drawn all three of their games. They found the net only once, in a 1–1 draw with Deportivo Cali in their opening match.

Their best hope for a positive result lies with forward Liza Larrea, the team’s top scorer this season with seven goals. Other key players include defender Natalia Genes and young striker Luján Tamay, who scored the team’s only goal in this tournament under coaches Ariel Rivaldi and Nelson Basualdo.

Head-to-Head Record

History does not favor Libertad: they have never beaten Colo-Colo in women’s football. Two years ago, Colo-Colo defeated the Paraguayans 4–0 in their only previous encounter, during the 2023 Women’s Libertadores.

Predictions

Although betting markets aren’t yet available, Colo-Colo’s campaign has been far superior, making them the natural favorites. The Chileans have yet to concede a goal, have scored four, and have shown dominant form. Libertad will need to make major improvements to pull off what would be the biggest upset of the tournament so far.

Deportivo Cali vs São Paulo

Closing out the quarterfinals, Deportivo Cali aims to maintain its unbeaten run and push for its first-ever Libertadores title — which would be Colombia’s second overall — while testing itself against one of the strongest opponents in the competition.

São Paulo, on the other hand, continues its rise in competitiveness and hopes to showcase its strength in the Women’s Libertadores. The club has already won three men’s titles but is still chasing its first in the women’s version. Despite losing to Colo-Colo, the Tricolores are fine-tuning their play to reach their goal.

Also held at Estadio Florencio Sola in Buenos Aires, the match will kick off at 8 p.m. on October 12. This Sunday’s game will determine who moves on to the semifinals and keeps the dream alive.

Deportivo Cali’s Form

Unbeaten and top of the balanced Group D, Deportivo Cali boasts a strong defense anchored by young goalkeeper Luisa Agudelo and center-back Kelly Caicedo — conceding only one goal, in their opening match.

Coach Jhon Ortiz has no confirmed absences, but the main concern is the attack. Forward Melanin Aponzá is the only offensive player to have scored so far, so the team will need to diversify its attacking options to surprise a tough opponent.

São Paulo’s Form

One of the top Brazilian teams at present, São Paulo finished second in Group C after the final round. Despite a 1–0 loss to a strong Colo-Colo side, São Paulo defeated Olimpia and San Lorenzo to advance in pursuit of its first title.

With no injuries or suspensions, coach Thiago Viana will have his full squad available. It remains to be seen if he will stick with striker Gio Crivelari, who has 11 goals this season but is currently on a scoring drought. Midfielders Karla Alves and Maressa have both been in good form and are competing for a starting spot.

Head-to-Head Record

In women’s football, these teams have never faced each other before. The same is true for the men’s side — their only meeting was a 3–0 São Paulo win in a friendly match back in 1962.

Predictions

There are no open betting markets for this match yet, making it hard to predict who bettors will favor. Despite Deportivo Cali’s slightly better campaign, with one more point than São Paulo, this matchup promises to be evenly balanced.
