2025 Brasileirão Feminino Quarterfinals: Matchups, Favorites, and Expectations!

After an exciting group stage and Round of 16, we’ve reached the quarterfinals with only eight contenders left in the title race!

Blink, and the 2025 Brasileirão Feminino quarterfinals will be decided. Just eight teams remain in the competition, with intense matches, an average of 3.03 goals per game, and plenty of excitement from August 15 to 17 — and for those who enjoy Sports Betting, there’s even more reason to get hyped!

Corinthians and Flamengo enter the pitch with a narrow aggregate lead and will need to seal their spots against Bahia and Palmeiras. Meanwhile, Cruzeiro and São Paulo both played goalless draws away from home and will aim to show Red Bull Bragantino and Ferroviária why they had such strong campaigns in the First Phase.

Ready to find out which teams will keep their title hopes alive in the Brasileirão Feminino? Let’s break it down.

Corinthians vs Bahia

The first Northeastern club to qualify for the Brasileirão Feminino knockout stage, Bahia hosted the dominant Corinthians at Estádio Batistão in Aracaju. The Mulheres de Aço struggled against the Brabas, losing 2-1 — they equalized in the 84th minute through left winger Rhaizza, but midfielder Gi Fernandes and forward Gabi Zanotti sealed the win for the five-time champions.

The second leg will be played at Estádio Mercado Livre Pacaembu in São Paulo at 9:00 p.m. on August 15. With the lead from last week, Corinthians can advance with a draw. Bahia must win to stay alive — and a one-goal win would take the match to penalties.

Corinthians form

Under Lucas Piccinato, Corinthians are unbeaten in four matches — defeating Ferroviária, Palmeiras, and Bahia, and eliminating Cruzeiro from the Copa do Brasil on penalties.

Forward Ellen is expected to miss the game due to a knee issue. Goalkeeper Lelê returns and should be on the bench, while forward Ivana Fuso could make her debut pending registration with the CBF.

Back from winning the Copa América with Brazil, midfielders Duda Sampaio and Yayá and forward Jhonsson are available. Standout player in the first leg, midfielder Letícia Monteiro is in form after scoring in the win over Ferroviária.

Bahia form

After seeing their five-match unbeaten run end, Felipe Freitas’ team will benefit from more recovery time — six days compared to just three for the Brabas. Their goal is to overturn the loss and crown what is already a historic campaign for the Mulheres de Aço.

Three players are expected to miss out: forward Ellen Santana and midfielders Mari Piris and Treyci, all injured. This means Bahia will rely heavily on midfielder Ju Oliveira and top scorers Cássia and Rhaizza — with four and six goals, respectively.

Defensively, they will need a big performance to keep the dream alive. Standout center-back Tchula and goalkeeper Yanne will be key to any upset.

Favorite

Corinthians, the dominant force in Brazilian women’s football, are heavy favorites. In addition to last week’s win, they have the shortest odds to lift the trophy at 2.7. Bahia, meanwhile, face a steep climb and have the longest title odds at 50.0.

São Paulo vs Ferroviária

In the only all-state matchup, it ended in a stalemate. Ferroviária and São Paulo played out a goalless draw at Arena Fonte Luminosa, with goalkeepers Luciana and Carlinha the stars of the show with five and three saves, respectively.

Two-time Brasileirão champions, the Guerreiras Grená once led the tournament but dipped in form, parting ways with coach Jéssica Lima and bringing back Léo Mendes, who is still searching for his first win. The Tricolores, on the other hand, are flying under Thiago Viana, chasing their first-ever title. The second leg is set for August 16 at 4:00 p.m. at MorumBIS.

São Paulo form

On a 12-match unbeaten streak, São Paulo boast the league’s best defense with just 10 goals conceded and clean sheets in seven of those matches.

Alongside standout keeper Carlinha, defenders Kaká, Bia Menezes, and Bruna Calderan form a solid backline. After selling midfielder Dudinha, the team’s attacking strength lies in midfielder Isabelle Guimarães and forwards Giovanna Crivelari and Camilinha.

No confirmed absences, but squad rotation is likely with just three days’ rest since their 1-0 win over Realidade Jovem. Duda Serrana, Carol Gil, and Karla Alves started the midweek state match, while Robinha featured in both games.

Ferroviária form

Back at the club after 10 years, Léo Mendes has improved results: they’re in the top four of the Paulista and a win away from their 11th Brasileirão semifinal. However, a 2-0 defeat to Corinthians exposed weaknesses — they played half an hour with a player advantage but couldn’t capitalize.

Midfielder Darlene and forward Millene have left the club, but there are no major absences otherwise. Keeper Luciana and defender Andressa Pereira will be crucial in stopping São Paulo, while midfielder Duda Santos, winger Micaelly, and forward Sissi will lead the attack.

Favorite

Last year’s runner-up São Paulo are among the top contenders to break Corinthians’ dominance, with title odds of 4.5, third best overall. Ferroviária are long shots at 7.0 despite their tradition.

Palmeiras vs Flamengo

After a thrilling 3-2 win for Flamengo at Estádio Municipal General Raulino de Oliveira, the second leg heads to Arena Barueri on Sunday, August 17 at 10:30 a.m. Palmeiras need a win — a one-goal margin takes it to penalties — while Flamengo play for a draw.

Palmeiras form

Fourth in the First Phase, Palmeiras enter under pressure after two straight defeats. With less rest, coach Camilla Orlando rotated her squad in the 1-0 loss to Santos, with only midfielder Brena and forward Amanda Gutierres starting among the usual XI.

They should be at full strength for the second leg. Winger Taína Maranhão, who scored twice in the first leg, joins Brena and Amanda as key players. Defensive midfielder Andressinha and goalkeeper Katherine Tapia, fresh from Copa América duty with Colombia, also return.

Flamengo form

Rosana Augusto’s Flamengo have no confirmed absences and have lost just once in their last 12 matches — to Corinthians.

At 40, veteran striker Cristiane has 24 goals this year and leads the attack, supported by forward Fernandinha and midfielder Djeni, who scored twice in the first leg. Defensively, keeper Vivi boasts a 79% save rate, and left-back Jucinara adds attacking threat, even scoring against Palmeiras.

Favorite

This is a close matchup. Palmeiras, one spot higher in the standings, have title odds of 6.0 against Flamengo’s 6.5. The Rubro Negro will need to manage their lead carefully, especially against a home side eager to overturn the result.

Cruzeiro vs Red Bull Bragantino

First Phase leaders Cruzeiro couldn’t shake off their Copa do Brasil exit, drawing 0-0 away to Red Bull Bragantino. The second leg is on Sunday, August 17 at 10:30 a.m., with both sides needing a win to advance. Any draw sends it to penalties.

Cruzeiro form

Despite the best overall campaign, Cruzeiro are winless in three and were eliminated from the Copa do Brasil by Corinthians. With a free week, coach Jonas Urias focused on improving an attack that was shut down by Bragantino in the first leg.

Top scorer Letícia (8 goals) is on a three-match drought, while playmaker Byanca Brasil remains key. Defender injuries — Isa Haas, Gio Oliveira — and forward Fabíola (season-ending ACL tear) are concerns, but keeper Camila Rodrigues and full-backs Vitória Calhau and Belinha anchor the league’s second-best defense.

Red Bull Bragantino form

Unbeaten in seven, but with just two wins, Humberto Simão’s side rely on a solid defense (16 goals conceded). Keeper Thayla Nobre and right-back Carol Tavares are defensive standouts.

Offensively, despite having the weakest attack of the quarterfinalists (20 goals), they feature the league’s second-top scorer, Paulina Gramaglia (15 goals), alongside winger Thayslane (6 goals).

Favorite

Cruzeiro have never won the Brasileirão Feminino but are second-favorites for the title at 3.5 odds, boosted by home advantage. Bragantino are outsiders at 20.0 but could surprise with their defensive discipline.
