Rocket League Tournament’s Format at the 2025 Esports World Cup

Like other competitions in the biggest esports event of the year, Rocket League will feature a Group Stage with a Double Elimination format. This means the 16 teams will be divided into four groups and will face off to determine two qualifying spots, with two brackets deciding the winners — one team qualifies through the Upper Bracket, while the losers get a second chance and face off for the Lower Bracket slot.

The Playoffs will feature the eight qualifiers in a Single Elimination format — lose and you’re out. This stage includes the Quarterfinals, Semifinals, Final, and the Third Place Match.

It’s worth noting that all matches are Bo5 (Best of Five), meaning teams play up to five games to determine the winner — which happens when the opponent can no longer mathematically catch up. The only exception is the title match, which is Bo7 (Best of Seven) and can feature up to seven games.

Rocket League EWC 2025’s Prize Pool

The good news for all 16 tournament participants is that no one will go home empty-handed. Out of the $1 million total prize pool, the bottom four teams will take home at least $10,000, while the other Group Stage eliminations earn $20,000.

Quarterfinal losers will get $35,000, with fourth place receiving $60,000 and third place taking $100,000. The runner-up will earn $180,000, and the champion will claim $400,000.

  • 2nd Place: 750
  • 3rd Place: 500
  • 4th Place: 300
