The competition is held at Sea Island Golf Club, in St. Simons Island, Georgia, USA. Check out the details of another golf tournament of the season in this Blaze guide and get ready to cheer!
What Is The RSM Classic 2025?
Always played during Georgia’s fall season, The RSM Classic has taken place since 2010. Since 2023, it has been the final chance for athletes to earn PGA Tour points and maintain their ranking privileges. The winner receives 500 points. The total prize pool in 2025 is US$7 million.
Out of the 15 editions held so far, only one golfer has managed to win the tournament twice: American Robert Streb, in 2014 and 2020. Maverick McNealy, also from the U.S., is the current champion.
Most of the winners of this competition are Americans. Only Canadians Mackenzie Hughes and Adam Svensson and Sweden’s Ludvig Aberg have broken that streak, in 2016, 2022, and 2023, respectively.
How Is The RSM Classic 2025 Played?
Since the 2015 season, both courses at Sea Island Golf Club have been used in the competition. The Seaside Course is a Par 70 with 7,005 yards, while the Plantation Course is a Par 72 with 7,060 yards, each featuring 18 holes.
Since both are used, the first two rounds each take place on different courses. After that, all players move on to the Seaside Course. The tournament closes out the official competitions of this PGA Tour season.
Who Are the Favorites for The RSM Classic 2025?
The 2025 edition of The RSM Classic features 156 players. Some stand out, such as Maverick McNealy, who defends the title he won in 2024. There’s also Harris English, world No. 13, and Brian Harman, No. 32—both U.S. athletes and residents of Sea Island Golf Club.
Among the participants are golfers who won events during the PGA Tour’s fall swing. Steven Fisk won the Sanderson Farms Championship, and Michael Brennan took the Bank of Utah Championship. Mackenzie Hughes and Adam Svensson, the only foreign players to win the tournament, will also compete.
Other champions from the 2025 golf season are in the field as well, in addition to English and Harman. They include Americans Joe Highsmith (Cognizant Classic), Andrew Novak (Zurich Classic of New Orleans), William Mouw (ISCO Championship), and Ryan Gerard (Barracuda Championship), along with Australian Karl Villips (Puerto Rico Open) and South African Garrick Higgo (Corales Puntacana Championship).
Who Will Win The RSM Classic 2025?
Even with so many season champions fighting stroke by stroke, a few players stand out in this year’s RSM Classic in Georgia. The odds point to Harris English and South Korea’s Kim Si-woo—who has yet to win this season—as the favorites, both at 21.0.
Right behind them are two golfers tied at 23.0 odds: Thorbjørn Olesen of Denmark and Michael Thorbjornsen of the USA. They are also still seeking their first win of the season.
Before choosing your favorite, remember that odds can change throughout the competition. Stay tuned to the rounds—and also to off-course news—by following updates on this PGA Tour event.
